I couldn’t think of a better way to spend a Sunday afternoon (especially when my JETS were playing on Monday night) than Daddy and daughter attending the 2012-Model Long Island Show at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Uniondale, NY. The International Automotive Showcase is a subsidiary of Motor Trend Auto Shows, LLC and also sponsored by UPS Stores and ShopRite Grocery Stores. It was definitely a great (and cost effective) way to spend an afternoon. The Auto Show was open all weekend long (though not highly publicized) with Free Admission and Parking – with Sunday, Oct 16th serving as Kids Day.
The Sunday afternoon sessions were a packed house with participation from a majority of your favorite manufacturers. You name the model and it included Fiats (without J-LO), Camaros, Corvettes, to your latest Escalades, Denali’s and pickup trucks. The combination of very helpful service and sales representatives, children running amok and parents recording video and taking pictures made it a fun filled day. I had the opportunity to test drive the Kodak Play-touch (which I’ll include in a separate review).
At the show, I ran into an old friend who mentioned the Americana Mall in Manhasset, NY will be holding an upscale Car Show next weekend.
