Single Mom Drives: A Ford NAIAS Adventure

In just a few short days this single mom will be hopping on a plane for a Ford-tastic adventure during Ford NAIAS which includes the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) and Ford’s Innovation and Design Fantasy Camp.

Even more exciting: I’ll be sharing my whole experience with you all here on Late Night Parents through my Single Mom Drives themed posts over the next three weeks.

So not only will you get to see the North American International Auto Show through the eyes of a single mom, you’ll also get to virtually meet some of Ford’s major designers, as well as experience Ford’s entire design process as I participate in Ford’s Innovation and Design Fantasy Camp.

Want to countdown to all of the Ford NAIAS excitement with me?

There’s an App for that!

Ford will be revealing the 2013 Fusion at NAIAS, but they’re offering a one-of-a-kind countdown in the form of a custom mobile application to their biggest fans.

Each day between now and January 9, Ford fans will be able to launch the interactive experience by finding and capturing a Ford logo using the camera on their mobile device.

iPad, iPod, Tablet, Droid. If your device can capture an image,  you can get in on the action!

You can unlock exclusive Ford content by downloading the Ford Fusion mobile app and finding the Ford logo. Once you capture a Ford logo with your device it will appear on the screen as a button that starts the augmented reality program where you can drive three new versions of the Ford Fusion, hear from the car’s designers and engineers and unlock even more new features along the way.

The more Ford logos you capture, the more fun you’ll have. You can unlock 19 unique driving courses, video content, and ultimately, the 2013 Ford Fusion on the same day it’s revealed to me and the rest of the world at the North American International Auto Show.

How cool is that?!

You can go to FordFusionApp.com for links to the iOS and Android application, as well as check out a demo of the Ford Fusion application here: http://youtu.be/d5QMrIvZzow

I can’t wait to share my Ford NAIAS Adventure with you all through the eyes of a single mom!

Disclosure: Ford Motor Company paid for my travel and accommodations at the 2-day Innovation and Design Fantasy Camp event. I was not compensated in any other manner for my time. My opinions posted here are my own.

Funny. Sexy. Inspiring. These are the three words that best describe Melysa Schmitt. Between raising her young son as a single mom, wearing her "super" Social Media/Community Manager cape during her day job and running her consulting business Kiss Our Sass Media LLC, Melysa writes her brazenly honest humor on her lifestyle blog Sex, Lies, and Bacon. Despite criticism from groups online as well as her own relatives, she candidly shares her successes, failures, and misadventures in dating and single parenting hoping to encourage others to stay true to themselves while following their own path. Though she has her concerns for the well-being of her son, Melysa, who had previously written about parenting on NJ.com, has developed a distinct and sassy voice through her personal blogging, allowing her to reach out to her readers with a simple, underlying message: Your relationship status does not limit or define you.
