After Allistair Overeen obliterated Brock Lesnar in the Octogon – and Lesnar’s immediate retirement – the MMA world (and Dana White) began thinking about their next BIG box office draw. Lesnar was a cash cow and ratings phenomenon, but medically a train wreck and unfit to continue with the UFC grind. Can the “Demolition Man” step into the role?
UFC President Dana White predicts a Summer 2012 heavyweight clash between Junior Dos Santos (making his 1st title defense) against Allistair Overeen. Both fighters require substantial time to prepare for their upcoming bout – so no actual date has been set for the bout. Where are the next wave of UFC superstars?
Much can be said about Lesnar’s legacy – at 30 years old, dived into the thick of the UFC heavyweight division with no prior MMA experience and didn’t just survive, but attained its highest prize. A potential WWE marketing deal and huge Wrestle-mania payday awaits him as a part-time WWE mega-star. Though, I highly doubt that Lesnar would return as a full-time participant —especially with his heavy dislike of its hectic schedule and wear and tear travel.
Today, you’re able to see Brock on the WWE 12 video game.
