On Wednesday, the Fox network uploaded the teaser to YouTube, where the video has been viewed almost two million times.

While a silhouette of a man, perhaps Mulder’s, appears beside what could be a warehouse railing, Mulder is heard saying, “I believe that what we’re looking for is in the X-Files. I’m more certain than ever that the truth is in there.” That second line plays off one of the Emmy-winning series’ major themes, “The truth is out there” — a phrase that appeared at the end of the shows’ opening credits during its 201-episode run from 1993 to 2002.

In another scene from the trailer, Scully’s voice is heard as the tandem advances with flashlights through a shadowy room. “I’ve heard the truth, Mulder,” she says. “Now what I want are the answers.”

The new, six-episode season of “The X-Files” premieres Jan. 26 on Fox.
