Road warriors, consider yourself warned: The more time you spend on the road, the more you are at risk for obesity, alcohol abuse, depression and other health problems, according to research published in the Journal of Occupational and Environmental Medicine. When employees suffer, companies suffer along with them, with increased absenteeism and decreased productivity. Columbia’s Andrew Rundle, one of the study’s authors, writes that stress management programs can help, as can hotels with gyms and healthy food options.
You could also reconsider whether all that travel is even necessary.
