Amazon has reportedly held talks with Formula One about a deal to stream Grands Prix.

According to the Financial Times, the talks are part of Formula One’s push to reach a younger audience who are more likely to stream live sport rather than watch through the more traditional methods of a pay-to-view TV channel and channels which host free-to-air highlights.

Formula One chief executive, Chase Carey, who is set to step down at the end of December, told the paper the sport has held “substantive discussions with Amazon and all the global digital platforms.”

Formula One would be another arm to Amazon’s sports content, which already includes football, rugby and tennis.
