This morning at 5:49am ET, SpaceX launched the Falcon 9 rocket as its 3rd successful crewed mission of the last 12 months.
Within 12 hours, Falcon 9 will dock at the ISS and 4 astronauts (Shane Kimbrough, Megan McArthur, Akihiko Hoshide, and Thomas Pesquet) will kick off a 6-month stay in space. They’ll also eventually join 7 other astronauts in space.
Falcon 9’s launch marks the first time astronauts have ridden a recycled rocket, a big deal for outer space sustainability. ♻️ Carissa Christensen, Founder and CEO of Bryce Space and Technology, shared:
We are essentially witnessing the creation of a new industry, and every early success is important to its growth path.
