Kevin Durant was dominant. And Team USA was golden. Once Again.
The Nets star scored a game-high 29 points Saturday to lead the U.S. men’s basketball team to an 87-82 victory over France in Saitama, Japan, avenging an opening loss in these Tokyo Olympics and giving the Americans a fourth straight gold medal.
Durant celebrated his third gold (tying him with Carmelo Anthony for the most in program history) with a huge American flag draped around his shoulders — the same shoulders that carried Team USA.
Afterward, he admitted this one was special because of what it took to earn it.
