Patriots Day

Description: Join us for a ceremony and stair climb to commemorate the 20th Anniversary of 9/11. The ceremony will begin at 8:30am in the Riverchase Galleria Food Court and the Climb to Remember will begin immediately following and will be held in the North Parking Deck. The stair climb is the equivalent of 110 stories. This event will benefit the Hoover Public Safety Charity Foundation.

Phoenix Challenge

Description: In honor of those who lost their lives on 9/11/2001, and in continued honor of our first responders and military who protect us from foreign and domestic threats, we gather to pay our respects at the annual 911 Tower Challenge. The World Trade Center’s Twin Towers each consisted of 110 floors and 2071 steps, and each year thousands of people across Arizona walk, climb and run the stairs to remember. Firefighters in full gear, Police, Military and Bomb Squad personnel march steadily alongside civilians of varying ages, abilities and backgrounds.

Moment of Silence

Description: The World Trade Center Arkansas will observe a moment of silence on the morning of Saturday, Sept. 11, to honor the victims of the 9/11 attacks.The center will observe a three-minute moment of silence at 7:46 a.m. CST, when the first plane struck the south tower.

Waves of Flags

Description: Each September, Pepperdine stages the Waves of Flags display honoring the lives lost in the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, with nearly 3,000 flags in Alumni Park along Pacific Coast Highway and Malibu Canyon Road—one for each innocent victim, including a national flag for each foreign country that lost a citizen in the attack.

Memorial Stair Climb

Description: The NFFF 9/11 Memorial Stair Climbs is a way to honor and remember the FDNY firefighters who selflessly gave their lives so that others might live on September 11, 2001. Each participant pays tribute to a FDNY firefighter by climbing the equivalent of the 110 stories of the World Trade Center. Your individual tribute not only remembers the sacrifice of a FDNY brother, but symbolically completes their heroic journey to save others. Through firefighter and community participation we can ensure that each of the 343 firefighters is honored and that the world knows we will never forget.

Remembering September 11th

Description: On the morning of September 11, 2001, brothers Jules and Gedeon Naudet were working on a documentary about a rookie New York City firefighter. Hearing a roar in the sky, Jules turned his camera upward -just in time to film the only existing image of the first plane crashing into the World Trade Center Tower 1. With cameras rolling, the Naudets follow NYC firefighters into the heart of what would be known as Ground Zero.
