At least 95% of adult residents in Nassau County have received at least one COVID-19 vaccine dose, the highest adult vaccination rate of all sixty-two counties in New York State according to the New York State Department of Health.
Nassau County has the second highest adult vaccination rate in the United States among the forty most populous counties. Our high vaccination rate is saving lives and helping spur a strong economic recovery. And we are committed to keeping up our momentum.
With 95% of adults having received one vaccine dose, the County is focused on increasing vaccination rates among eligible youth (ages 12-17). By increasing vaccination rates among residents 12-17, Nassau will stay ahead of the virus and keep our communities safe.
As a part of the State’s #VaxToSchool program, residents aged 12-17 who get vaccinated at the County’s participating events will receive gift cards for Amazon, movie theatres and other incentives after receiving each shot.
Upcoming #VaxToSchool events will be held Thursday, October 28 from 8am-8pm at Kennedy Park in Hempstead and Saturday, October 30 from 9am-9pm at 1 Marcus Avenue, New Hyde Park.
