Varsity Flag is excited to announce that registration is now open for Long Island’s newest premier youth flag football league. The league welcomes athletes of all skill and experience levels, ages 3-4 for Junior Varsity skills clinic and ages 5-14 for Varsity competitive league play. Varsity Flag’s game plan is to leave it all on the field and raise the bar in youth sports by providing a premium, youth sports league that emphasizes elite character building.
Varsity Flag founded its youth flag football league as a way to help future leaders grow through team sports. Aside from having fun out on the field, young athletes will learn indispensable skills they can apply later in life. Alongside a commitment to the fundamentals, Varsity Flag’s mission focuses on teamwork, friendship and character building—all within a safe and inclusive environment. Varsity Flag is a no contact league, reducing the potential for injury and increasing the potential for fun! The league is player-centric with separate boys’ and girls’ divisions, allowing kids to team up with friends or meet new people through an assigned team.
Through partnerships with some of Long Island’s top day camps—including North Shore Day Camp, Coleman Country Day Camp, and Crestwood Country Day Camp—players will gain private access to pristine football fields where they’ll play each week. “Our list of top notch private playing facilities continues to expand,” Kramer continued.
Each player will receive their own top of the line sublimated premium jersey and personal flag belt. In addition, the league will provide team photos and an on-site videographer, to help capture the action.
Varsity Flag prides themselves on ‘white-glove’ communication with players and their families. The league keeps everyone up to date with notifications via text, email, their interactive website and a dedicated mobile app. Additionally, it’s the only youth flag football league on Long Island that posts its full schedule before the season begins!
Varsity Flag’s new youth flag football league is premiering at a time when nationwide demand for the sport is higher than ever, as parents and players seek an alternative to traditional impact football. Parents on Long Island seem to agree, as indicated by the nearly instantaneous demand and early surge in registrations. “The feedback from parents and kids regarding Varsity Flag has been overwhelmingly positive,” Kramer said, as he experienced it first-hand while attending the recent Long Island All Kids Fair, and other community events around Long Island, promoting the upcoming season.
Registration is currently open for the Fall 2022 season, which kicks off in September. Parents can visit the league’s website to register their kids and discover more information.
