Sports streamer DAZN is planning on competing against Sky Sports, BT Sport and Amazon Prime in the next round of bidding for Premier League rights in the UK.
The next auction of Premier League rights is due to take place next year, and will cover 2025-28.
The current deal, which runs until 2025, is worth $4.8 billion, averaging $1.66 billion per year.
However, there are suggestions that the Premier League does not want more than three broadcasters/streamers to hold the rights as that would mean football fans having to subscribe to too many platforms.
DAZN has long been keen to secure football rights to give it a foothold into the UK sports market. It was rumored to be planning to bid during the auction of the 2022-2025 rights.
