Verizon is at it again, expanding 5G upgrades to more cities and states in recent months. Over 200 million people across the U.S. can get connected to 5G Ultra Wideband. June saw a large increase in places receiving upgraded connections for 5G and 5G Ultra Wideband and Verizon is still working on increasing coverage while upgrading service throughout the rest of this year.
The company is also deploying more C-Band availability, which provides higher speeds with a mid-band spectrum, in addition to investing in more 5G enabled search and rescue drones to aid first responders during emergencies.
“The more spectrum we open up on our network, the more data can move across our network faster and more efficiently,” said Adam Koeppe, Senior Vice President of Technology and Planning for Verizon.
