Britax Parkway SGL Car Seat Giveaway!

It’s not often you get to combine child safety with charity but Britax has seemed to master both. Of course, every parent knows that Britax is a leader in child safety but did you know they’re also leading the way with charity?

BRITAX Child Safety Inc. donated 150 of its newest belt-positioning booster seats, the Parkway® SGL, to Safe Kids USA coalitions across the U.S. to be used in training classes for Child Passenger Safety (CPS) technicians and instructors.

Since 2007, BRITAX has donated annually approximately 300 car seats to Safe Kids USA, an organization committed to preventing accidental childhood injury. BRITAX donated one Parkway SGL for each of the 150 people who installed the booster seat using its new ISOFLEXTM Flexible Lower LATCH Connection System in the BRITAX display vehicle at the 2010 ABC Kids Expo, the nation’s primary tradeshow for the juvenile products industry, held in October. The ISOFLEX system which secures and stabilizes the booster seat during a crash can be fastened to the seat in seconds, with two clicks and a quick pull.

“BRITAX is committed to keeping children safe,” said Jon Chamberlain, President of BRITAX. “We’re proud to provide Safe Kids USA with our newest booster seat to help limit vehicle-related injuries and improve awareness and education on proper car seat use and installation.”

The Parkway® SGL can easily be converted into a backless booster for older children up to 120 pounds and 63 inches. The seat offers True Side Impact Protection® — a combination of deep side walls and an adjustable head restraint lined with energy-absorbing EPS foam — that works to transfer energy away from the child during a side impact crash to limit injury. It also features the SecureGuard™ Seat Belt Anchor to help prevent the child from sliding under the lap-belt portion of the safety belt (submarining) during impact, minimizing the risk of abdominal injury.

    Charity to our family is giving our time and gently used items to shelters and daycares whenever we can since money is too tight to donate actual cash! It feels good to pay it forward and we are trying to instill that in our children by telling them that no new toy from Nana or Gama comes into the house unless an old one goes out! My little guys are very giving already and they’re both under 3! 🙂

    charity to my family means helping by donating and do anything you feel can help in anyway, like when my daughter had a book donation at school or hat and scarf donation she would run to me and ask can she donate because she has so many and of course we encourage her to be kind and generous because not everyone has as much as me or you, so always be grateful for the things you have. @st3phanini

    Charity means different things to our family. If we have spare money, it means donating to the many nonprofits we support in Philadelphia. But since I’m out of work, it has meant donating time volunteering at those nonprofits and fostering animals from the city shelter (a passion of mine).

    Charity to my family means giving back whenever possible. Whether it’s Going through the pantry every month or so & donating to the food bank, or going through the closets and taking what we can to the local woman’s shelter, or just making an extra large dinner so we can take it to someone in need. To us it’s not about writing a big check at the end of the year (I wish we had the means but let’s face if we don’t) it’s about thinking about others on a day to day basis, and not being afraid to do what you can when you can.

Or if you see someone at the store trying to reach something on the top shelf, offer to get it for them. Charity is benevolent goodwill. I think that giving charity is a way of paying it forward.

    I think everyone should do charities, help out the ones that can’t always afford what they need, here where we live, we have a thrift store called D.A.V and every other month we call them to pick up stuff that we don’t need anymore (like clothes my kids outgrow) and they sell all the stuff to help out disable veterans, so we’re helping too (@cdhabolt) [email protected]
