It’s just a another normal day in the life of Major League Baseball. NO steroid related stories – just the last day/game of the season. Tomorrow’s water cooler discussion topics will definitely include:
The demise of the Boston Red Sox. Good Night Irene. Bye, BYE Theo Epstein – Hello Chicago Cubs. Let the conversation begin. See Ya – Big Papi.
CONGRATS! The Rays and Cardinals are in the playoffs. The Atlanta Braves totally collapse! Don’t forget the Angels as they fell in the trash can too!
Ozzie Guillen is taking his talents to South Beach. Ozzie was announced as manager of the Florida Marlins. Was Ozzie really traded for two players? (Technically, the transaction was NOT a trade. Since, the White Sox retained their rights to Guillen, they received two prospects — — infielder Ozzie Martinez and right-handed reliever Jhan Marinez — from the Marlins.
Jose Reyes goes 1-for-1, takes himself out of the game and wins the batting title. I was actually rooting for Milwaukee’s Ryan Braun to go 5-for-5 and blow past Reyes. This could possibly be Reyes’ last game with the Mets at Citi Field. Will this become a part of his legacy? Removing yourself to preserve an individual record is weak!
Sorry folks – parity exists!
