Let me start by giving you a brief history lesson on Key Food. Key Food Stores Co-op, Inc. is a cooperative of independently owned supermarkets, founded in Brooklyn, New York on April 20, 1937. Its stores are found in Connecticut, New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania.  The headquarters for the Key Food cooperative is on Staten Island; the Chief Executive is Dean Janeway. The cooperative also operates stores under the Key Food Marketplace, Key Fresh & Natural, Food Dynasty, Urban Market, Food World, and Food Universe Marketplace banners.

Growing in Queens, New York in the 1970s – there was one establishment that helped us with the continuity – that was our neighbor supermarket.  Why you ask – because our store was always equipped w/ all the products that were used in my household such as Tide laundry detergent for your clothes, Bounty & Charmin paper towels / toiler paper & Dawn dish detergent to wash the dishes.

Our Key Food Store was conveniently located only a few blocks away home and their internal staff was always friendly with the consumers and knowledgeable of their products.

As you may already know – on Sunday at 1pm ET – the New York Giants and New York Jets face off for the 13th time in history!  Every four years, during the regular season – we receive the opportunity to view #TheClosestRivals go head to head.  This year – Todd Bowles has taken over the helm from Rex Ryan and re-energized this rivalry. We’re witnessing Coach Tom Coughlin fighting to keep his team fully engaged in playoff contention within the dreadful NFC East.  The Patriots were briefly flirting w/perfection has the Jets focusing on securing one of the two wildcard slots.

Each fan-base heavily rely on their teams each season – just like the neighborhood would rely on its favorite store.  The Difference is Key!
