Are you looking for a new job or seasonal work? Major retailers across the United States have started hiring to keep up with the holiday rush.
Many companies are also offering perks like more pay, bonuses, flexibility and reliable hours during the holidays.
Some retailers are even announcing permanent hiring plans rather than seasonal ones.
Here are some of the companies hiring:
1-800-Flowers: The company announced plans to hire more than 10,000 team members nationwide for seasonal positions across its gourmet foods and gifting brands as it prepares to meet increased online demand this holiday season.
Aldi: The supermarket chain is looking to hire 20,000 workers for the holiday season.
Amazon: In September, Amazon announced that it wants to hire 125,000 permanent delivery and warehouse workers. Some of the company’s perks include sign-on bonuses of up to $3,000 and getting paid up to $22 per hour. The starting wage for the new openings is $18 — that’s $3 above the company’s minimum wage.
Dick’s Sporting Goods: The sporting goods retailer is looking to hire up to 10,000 seasonal associates.
Macy’s: Macy’s plans to hire about 76,000 full- and part-time workers at its stores, call centers and warehouses ahead of this year’s holiday season, indicating a return to pre-pandemic levels of hiring.
Michaels: The crafts retail chain is looking to hire over 20,000 seasonal positions across the U.S. and Canada.
Target: This year, the retailer is giving its frontline store team members more pay, flexibility and reliable hours during the holidays. Target also announced it wants to hire 100,000 seasonal workers.
UPS: The company is looking to hire more than 100,000 essential seasonal employees to support the anticipated annual increase in package volume.
USPS: The United States Postal Service is hiring 40,000 seasonal openings, including mail carriers, mail handlers and drivers. The agency is also hiring for year-round positions, like sales associates.
Walmart: Walmart aims to hire 150,000 workers ahead of the busy holiday shopping season. The company has also invested in the workers by making three major wage increases over the past year, offering more full-time roles and paying 100% of their college tuition and books through Live Better U.
