Browns refuse Baker Mayfield’s trade request – they won’t deal starting QB

Baker Mayfield asked for a trade Thursday afternoon, but the Browns responded by telling the quarterback’s agent they are not accommodating the request.

Baker Mayfield just told ESPN: “It’s in the mutual interest of both sides for us to move on. The relationship is too far fine to mend. It’s in the best interests of both sides to move on.”

Mayfield and the Browns are at odds after the franchise’s failed attempt to lure controversial Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson to Cleveland.

The Browns were informed Watson would not waive the no-trade clause in his contract to come to Cleveland.
