pan massWe’re very excited that our friend Chris Villani (Sports Talk show host on Boston Herald Radio. Called Sports Town, from 3-6pm . He also works for WEEI in Boston)  for a 5th year riding in the Pan Mass Challenge http://PMC.org this year – raising money for the Jimmy Fund and the Dana Farber Cancer Institute.  (AUG2-3) In previous years – through various levels of generosity from friends and family members – was able to raise more than $3,500.  This year’s goal is to raise than $4,500 this year.  Chris and his teammate Ellen are supporting the Claudia Adams Barr Program, which is the same initiative supported by the Dana Farber Boston Marathon runners.  They figured it was the least we could do to support their running brethren in the fight against cancer.
Chris began riding for his friend Jamie, who was diagnosed with lymphoma at age 24 and has since beaten his disease and is living a healthy and happy life.  This year, Chris is riding for him and for many other family members and friends who have had to deal with various forms of cancer.  These cancer survivors have fought bravely with the help of research and treatments like the ones developed by the Barr Program at DFCI.

chrisbikeChris has a very easy job –  all he has to do is hop on the bike and ride.  He’s returning this year to ride from Sturbridge to Provincetown ( total 192 miles)  and I hope you’ll join him in supporting Dana Farber by donating to his ride in this year’s Pan Mass Challenge.  It would be great to join together in the hope that someday we’ll achieve the ultimate goal of a cure.
