Netflix leads the way in terms of total nominations with a staggering 160 nods, followed by HBO with 107.
Ozark and Succession both received 18 nominations each in the drama categories while The Marvelous Mrs Maisel topped the comedy noms. Watchmen leads the way in the miniseries/limited series awards.
As always, The Crown proved to be a favorite with Emmy votes, receiving 13 nominations including one for Olivia Colman in Best Actress. She will compete alongside Killing Eve’s Jodie Comer and Sandra Oh. The BBC series picked up eight nominations in 2020.
Normal People, which was expected to do well in the nominations, received just one nod for Paul Mescal in the Best Actor category.
Disney Plus, Quibi and Apple TV Plus have all received their first Primetime Emmy nominations.
Disney Plus received 19 nominations, Apple TV Plus garnered 18 and Quibi has 10. The Mandalorian proved popular with voters, receiving 18 nominations while Apple’s The Morning Show picked up eight.
The winners of the Primetime Emmy Awards will be announced on 20th September.
