New York Mets second baseman Robinson Cano apologized to the team, teammates and fans as he vowed to do his best to help team win a World Series. Cano was suspended for all of last season due to PED suspension.
“I’m here to apologize, first of all to the Mets organization, to my teammates, the fans and you guys,” Cano said in the press conference room at Clover Park.
Cano was directly asked why did he feel the need to break the rules and take the illegal substances. “There’s no reason,” he said. No excuses. I cannot live in the past.
Cano was also asked if he could guarantee he won’t test positive for illegal PEDs again but he didn’t directly answer the question.
“He’s going to get a chance to not do it,” Mets manager Buck Showalter said.
