Things Remembered Galvanizes its Brand with the Appointment of Catalina Maddox-Wagers

Pivotal leader at David’s Bridal takes over as Senior VP of Merchandising and Marketing

CLEVELAND – Blending classic elegance with forward-thinking merchandising ingenuity, Things Remembered, the leading retailer of personalized gifts, announced the appointment of Catalina Maddox-Wagers to Senior Vice President, Chief Merchandising and Marketing Officer.

Maddox-Wagers is the former Executive Vice President and General Merchandising Manager for wedding specialty retailer David’s Bridal, where she was respected for breaking norms and expanding the marketing footprint, including the introduction of three of the retailer’s most successful brands, “White” by Vera Wang, Melissa Sweet and DB Studio.

In her new role, she will further evolve the Things Remembered brand in product development, brand marketing, in-store and online merchandising, Things Remembered chairman, president and CEO Michael Anthony said. “Catalina puts a forward-thinking, creative twist into timeless traditions. Her deep appreciation for the richness of life’s milestones, special occasions and everyday gifting, paired with her sharp, inspired eye, exemplify what the Things Remembered brand is committed to delivering to our customers,” Anthony continued. “With her merchandising, marketing, category expertise and multi-channel retail experience, she will help guide the evolution of the Things Remembered brand.”

“Things Remembered is a company that enjoys a long legacy of helping people celebrate and memorialize their most treasured milestones in life,” said Maddox-Wagers. “They have the largest market share in North America in the personalization space, as well as a tremendous record in customer satisfaction for over 40 years.”

Maddox-Wagers said a new generation is poised for major life milestones – engagements, weddings, babies, new homes – and Things Remembered is ready to help them celebrate those moments.

“Things Remembered operates a state-of-the-art, multi-channel platform that positions them for an incredible growth opportunity with the Millennials,” she said.

Maddox-Wagers will begin her new role on September 3rd, entering the company at one of its busiest times of year, with the onset of the holiday shopping season. “We could not have chosen a better person for the position,” Anthony said. “Catalina brings a unique vision and energy to Things Remembered, which will translate to future merchandising and marketing creativity and an enriched overall customer experience.”
