The grandPad and Claris Companion are two simplified tablets that are specifically designed for the 75 and older crowd, who are unfamiliar with technology.

GrandPad is a 7-inch Android tablet that comes with a stylus, charging stand and Verizon 4G LTE built-in so it works anywhere within the Verizon network.

It gives users only the essential features with big icons and large text. It allows them to make phone calls, video calls, send voice emails, view photos and videos, listen to music, check the weather and play games. However, it does not allow users get on the Internet.

The GrandPad leases for $60 per month or $53 a month if you pay one year in advance.

The Claris Companions are 10-inch Samsung tablets that have big buttons and large text. It also only accesses essential functions.

The Claris Companion costs $349 and $449 plus a $29 and $49 monthly subscription fee.
